The Plantation project aims to cultivate and market the best spices in Cambodia. This ambition contributes to the development of our project, thus offering employment opportunities and a better life in a remote rural region.
With more than 160 full-time employees and more than 100 additional workers during the five months of the harvest, La Plantation is the largest employer in the region. With these jobs, we support more than 1,000 members of these families on a daily basis consolidating the family unit, the cornerstone of Cambodian society.
Taking care of our employees every day
Our employees receive a monthly salary higher than the conditions prevailing in the country and benefit from three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner, served at our canteen.
Most of them live in neighboring villages, but some of them benefit from accommodation at La Plantation in dormitories or rooms, with showers and toilets.
All employees have health insurance, giving them access to free healthcare and workers' compensation insurance.
Our program includes regular training for our employees on hygiene, food safety, organic farming and fair-trade principles. Internal job opportunities are offered to our employees.
La Plantation is in the final phase of fair trade certification (WFTO).
