Star anise is the dried fruit of Cambodian star anise tree, a tree originated from China, which can grow up to 8 meters. It is shaped like an eight-pointed star, each containing a brown and shiny oval seed. The star anise of Cambodia has a very aniseed and slightly peppery scent that is also reminiscent of liquorice.

Star anise contains linalool, a compound rich in antioxidants that is very beneficial for health (hormonal stimulant, flu, sore throat, respiratory diseases, digestion, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory). How to prepare a tea with star anise: Start by boiling water for your tea. When boiling, pour the water into your teapot. Place in the teapot 1-2 whole star anise flowers per cup and let steep for 10 to 15 minutes. It is Always better to drink infusions without sugar and taste the product by itself. But, if you want it sweeter, add honey. Honey is also beneficial for dry, oily coughs.
